Rose Calucchia has been moving, climbing, tumbling, dancing, competing and performing for as long as she can remember. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College, with a focus in dance, she found LAVA – the all- female dance/acrobatic company in Brooklyn, NY. She trained with the company for 2 years in handstands, partner acrobatics, tumbling, hoop diving, and trapeze before becoming a performing member. She also joined the teaching staff teaching both kids and adults handstands and acrobatics. Rose spent nearly 8 years working with LAVA and is grateful for all the knowledge she gained through teaching, performing and working with Sarah East Johnson, LAVA’s Artistic Director.
Rose relocated to Santa Cruz, California in 2012, where she continued her handstand training with Master Lu Yi at the San Francisco Circus Center, as well as double trapeze with Helene Turcotte. In 2015, Rose opened her own studio with 2 colleagues in Santa Cruz, The Radical Movement Factory, where she teaches and trains circus arts. With her background, Rose brings a unique approach to movement and personal training.
Rose discovered GMB Fitness in 2015 and immediately knew this training method aligned with her values of mindful movement practices and progressive bodyweight training. GMB focuses on physical autonomy through gymnastics and bodyweight movements. To her, GMB combines her two worlds – training and acrobatics. In 2017, Rose became a Lead Trainer for GMB. She loves the community GMB has created and enjoys learning from her colleagues, as well as her GMB coaches and mentors, Ryan Hurst and Jarlo Ilano.
Rose works as a Personal Trainer at some of the premier training facilities in Santa Cruz and Silicon Valley.
Since becoming a fitness professional over 10 years ago, Rose has focused on helping her clients move and feel better. She believes everyone has unique and authentic movement patterns, and Rose enjoys catering her programs to each individual client’s needs and goals.

She offers guidance and support with nutrition and stress management. Rose also offers online coaching for clients who are not able to see her in person.
