Idea Personal Trainer Institute Session 304: Strength, Flexibility and Control Through Animal Movements

“Animal movements” are found in the dance and martial arts traditions of almost every culture. In this workshop, we will focus on three—the bear, the monkey and the frogger—to build the foundation of strength, flexibility and motor control needed to become a well-rounded mover. You will learn to master the three animal movements, plus several of their variations, and to assess your own movement patterns so you can identify the areas you need to focus on in your own training, whether you primarily train with weights or just your body weight. You will also learn how to use these movements to assess your clients’ needs. The workshop will culminate with connecting the movements to create some fun and challenging movement flows.
